PHOTOGRAPHY TV SHOW TONIGHT AT 8PM!
Face-to-Face & New Online Photography Courses IOP
Hi there There

IOP TVPHOTOGRAPHY TV SHOW TONIGHT AT 8PM!
A quick reminder that the second episode of my Photography TV show will go out live tonight at 8pm Irish/UK Time (2pm Central/12 noon Pacific).

On tonight's show I plan to chat about filters. I will cover Neutral Density Gradient Filters, both in front of the lens, and behind the shot once in Lightroom, Elements or Photoshop, Polarisers, as well as general filters to help protect the front of your lens.

If you would like to have a question answered, why not pop it into the Facebook post here?

There is a funny quirk with Facebook Live though, as it reverses the image, so everything is back to front! I can fix this later in software, and do so when I upload to YouTube. Last weeks show can be seen on YouTube at this link.

In this video recorded for our Online Photography Students, tutor Dave McKane talks about what he checks when he first takes his camera out of the bag.

This is one of the many videos that our online photography students receive, as a way to help keep them motivated, and prepared to get out shooting!
A 3 video feed approachCOURSES UPDATE
When I decided to set up what is essentially my own TV Studio, I could not have guessed the intricacies and complications it would all involve. My college degree, while majoring in photography, also covered a lot of video production, so I should have known what to expect. What is interesting is that every hour takes 2.5 hours to shoot, nearly 8 hours to edit, and about 6 hours to upload (without glitches!).

3 Camera Feed Setup
The reason for this extra work is that I have deliberately gone for a 3 recording feed approach (2 cameras, 1 computer screen). Much of the competition out there is simply a disembodied voice with a hovering mouse pointer on a screen. I think that the approach I have chosen is much more engaging, much more relevant to students, and I think it is more likely you will stick with the whole course you have signed up for. I have always stood for high quality, all of the time, no lapses, and this endeavor is no different.

New modules on the way!
There is a well recognized concept out there that it takes 10,000 hours to master anything, well I am at 7,500 hours in, and it is getting there! Today will see the new modules uploaded for Digital Photography Level 1 & 2, and over the next few days we will be getting the first editions of Photoshop, Lightroom, Flash, and Street Photography in the can.

Breaking beyond industry norms
I am creating what is essentially a 'sub-broadcast level' training operation, aimed at significantly breaking beyond industry norms. I believe I did this with my Face to Face teaching, and now the world of online training is ripe for this approach.
