Canon EOS 1200D review
The entry-level DSLR market has slowed in terms of product releases in recent years. Indeed it's taken three years for Canon to out the 1200D - that's Rebel T5 for our American friends - and while we don't mind waiting for the right kit to come along we do question whether the market has changed unrecognisably in that period of time. The update to 2011's 1100D, the EOS 1200D is all about hitting an accessible price point. A lot of its features mirror that of its pricier, more feature-laden peers from the EOS range but wrapped in a more budget, plastic finish. Performance relatively assur..

There’s one in your laptop, two in your phone, and probably a pair in your tablet that you’ve never used. There’s maybe one in your doorbell, even, or strapped to your head while you bomb the slopes. 100 wonderful Photoshop photo effects tutorials
How can we define what’s a photo effect? That was my main concern when I started the research to build this list. Despite of this situation, I had one thing clear: the final result had to be quite different from the orignal picture and be recognized as a post production photo manipulation. That idea would leave all kind of complex photo retouching and subtle color correction out of the discussion. I’ve already gathered some of those tutorials in my Guide to Photoshop digital makeover and 70 horror, blood and gore photoshop tutorials and brushes articles. So, with that idea in mind, I gathere..

Though it was announced late last month, the new 24-megapixel Pentax KP DSLR made its official debut at the WPPI show in Las Vegas this week and we put our grubby little paws all over this compact yet rugged APS-C sensor-based DSLR. What impressed us most was that despite the camera’s slim build – it weighs only 1.4 pounds and is small enough to fit into a laptop bag  – the Pentax KP looks and feels like a serious pro-level DSLR. It’s also weather resistant and while we haven’t had a chance to seriously test the new Pentax KP out yet,&n..

(left) SLR Magic 8mm f/4   (Right) Laowa 7.5mm f/2. Just did some quick test on my OM-D EM10. Here are the results.   Angle of view comparison. First of all, a comparison of the angle of view between 7.5mm and 8mm. The difference is quite significant. Normally a 7.5mm rectilinear lens in a MFT camera should have a 110° Angle of view while 8mm have around 107°. But it appears that the difference ..

Someone Figured Out a Process For Developing Kodachrome Film In Color
It's not perfect, but it's certainly interesting Back at CES 2017, our most popular story was a blog post about how Kodak is bringing back its Ektachrome slide film. It was totally unexpected, but indicative of a serious rise in popularity for film photography. So, while there has been no official announcement about the return of Kodachrome (at least not yet), an intrepid film enthusiast named Kelly-Shane Fuller of Piratology Studios has figured out a process for developing Kodachrome in color. Sony’s new a6500 offers in-body OIS and 307-image burst mode
Sony has announced the a6500, the successor to the well-received Alpha a6300 mirrorless camera. In similar vein as the compact RX100 V also announced on Thursday, the a6500 builds on the success rather than offering too great an overhaul. The 24.2-megapixel APS-C EXMOR CMOS sensor remains the same. However, it now has the world’s fastest AF lock at 0.05 seconds. It also has 425 phase detection AF points, 'densely positioned over nearly the entire image area', which Sony claims is the world’s highest for an interchangeable lens camera. Leica Intros Slimmed Down M10 Rangefinder that Ditches Movie Mode (Hands-On & Test Images)
Leica is going back to the future (again) with its newest digital rangefinder, the full frame, 24-megapixel M10. With this new model, which is the follow-up to the Leica M (Typ 240), Leica has trimmed the size of the M10, making it 4mm (1/8-inch) thinner than its predecessor. Part of that size reduction is due to the fact that Leica has gotten rid of the 1080p HD movie capture mode that was available on the previous model. In a meeting Shutterbug had with Leica executives last week at which we were loaned a production version of the M10 to test out ahead of today’s launch, we were..
